BRAND & GRAPHIC CONSULTANCY
This small building located in Surry Hills was a stonemason and a bookmaker’s workshop in previous lives. The heritage sensitive building came with many structural challenges.
Instead of looking at them as a negative, RAD chose to embrace these, metamorphosing them into design features. Retaining the heritage feel, the architectural response; a wall of “Mille Vini” meaning one thousand wines into the design solution as an anchor.
Sandstone walls and exposed roof beams remain, though the new dark-wood furniture, sleek design and hanging lamps bring the space warmly into a contemporary context.
The use of materials energise the historic elements of the building whilst providing a modern edge.
RAD worked with the client & graphic design team to establish a new brand and essence through the space.
